I have no confidence to get a pass in my final essay, which consist 60% of total marks.

I prepared to re-take this course next year, but I strongly recommend UOW-HKBU not to hire TOBY as this subject lecturer AGAIN!!

Compare with Becky's lectures on Ritual last year, I do learn things from her even though I only got 3x/100 marks in the final essay. In contrast, in this semester, I learn nothing but doing assignment. All the materials that I should put in the essay, e.g. understanding the concept of "Postmodern global media culture", are read by myself, and what Tody did only prepare a powerpoint for the essay question as a guideline.

We may say that it is good as he provide a ppt as guideline for the essay, but I want to have new knowledge!!!, but not focus on ESSAY!!!!. This is a lecture in UNIVERSITY but not a tutor centre, and I do not want a lecturer spending most of the lecture time in teaching how to do the essay!!!

After this semester, what I learnt from this course is, essay, essay and essay, but not as the learning objectives stated:

· identify forms of analysis and inquiry appropriate for the study of culture.
· identify and discuss the meaning of key concepts in the study of culture
· write an individual essay related to issues and debates in the study of culture

NO MORE HARMS TO US PLZ, TOBY!
